St. Louis U's Lambakan 2007 set

White and Blue, official student publication of the Saint Louis University (SLU), will be holding Lambakan 2007, a three-day cultural and journalism skills training and seminar at the SLU Center for Culture and the Arts building from March 26 to 28.

Bearing the theme "Kumpas ng Pluma, Ukit sa Panibagong Kasaysayan at Kultura," Lambakan 2007 would be participated in by campus journalists, budding writers, and Mass Communication students from higher education institutions throughout Luzon.

Prominent resource speakers were invited to share their knowledge and skills.

Lambakan 2007 would feature lectures and discussions on advanced photojournalism, cartooning, editing, copy reading, news writing, feature writing, sports writing and editorial writing. There would also be lectures on student leadership, media ethics and broadcast journalism. The White and Blue organizers also scheduled tours to different tourist spots in Baguio City as well as cultural presentations, especially for participants from other provinces.

White and Blue has been reaping awards from various competitions in recent months. In January, White and Blue staffers emerged as overall champion in the individual category and overall first runner-up in the group category in Commission on Higher Education (Ched) regional office's seventh Regional Tertiary Schools Press Conference in the city, collecting 10 out of 11 awards.

Advancing to Ched's sixth Luzon-wide Higher Education Press Conference last month in Tagaytay City, the White and Blue team garnered eight publications awards and six individual awards. (NM)
