The only independent party not affiliated with any Executive Committee (ExeCom) lineup drew praises from voters in the September 20 Elections as ten out of 12 of their candidates won in the College of Human Sciences Supreme Student Council (SSC) Assembly.

“Group of Independents – Coalition for Holistic Service” (GRIN-CHS) left only two positions for their rival parties, the two big players in the elections (REPORMA-ACS and RIGHTS). Majority of GRIN-CHS’ party-mates won by big margins.

According to Jan Lezter Fernandez, the newly selected SSC governor, they were expecting to win the majority but most of the college assembly. 90% of the candidates from their party won namely; Jan Lezter Fernandez, Governor; Charles Dumasi, Vice governor; Kendall Immoliap, Third and Fourth year representative; Kirk Anthony churva, Fourth year vice mayor; Joshua Pablito, Third year mayor; Patrick Caloncagon, Third year Vice Mayor; Ronilo Borja, First and Second year Representative; Paul John Erpelo, Second year mayor; Bon Karlo Ladia, Second year Vice Mayor and Adrianne Ivory Noble, First year Vice Mayor while the other posts.

Winston Balwang of REPORMA-ACS grabbed the Fourth Year Mayor position through a 14 vote compared to GRIN-CHS’ Jasper Radoc while Anthony Castillo of RIGHTS edged Hyata Casipit by 20 votes.

“They have done their part by voting, it’s our turn to give our service”, said Fernandez, who won almost double the vote of his rival from SOLID, Danielle Banayat.
